New instrument! New CD, too?
10th January 2012

2012 started really well: one of Amaro Del's older needs was fulfilled by receiving a new piano, thanks to the generosity of a few sponsors.

It posed a constant problem to the band that while touring all through the summer, they didn't have their own electric piano. However, the time of having to borrow one has seized: thanks to the generous donations of brothers and sisters from Western Europe, they were able to purchase a Roland piano which will be a great asset to the band.

We hope that this new instrument will enable the guys to produce their fourth album this year. Let's pray that God's blessing would be on the concerts in 2012 as well as on the preparations for the new CD!

The most memorable moments
17th November 2011

Amaro Del had a truly busy year: they gave a lot of concerts (twenty-nine in total!), draw huge audiences and gained lots of great experiences. Which ones were the most memorable moments for them? Which event made the biggest impact on them? These are some questions we discussed with some of the band members.

The best description for Amaro Del’s 2011 is ‘busy’. They’ve been to numerous places, within and outside of Hungary. It’s not an easy task to choose the best moments from the season, from the many experiences and performances held in many different denominations up to the This Is The Day Festival Ruszlan Jankovszki, Sandor Tejfel and Tibor Virag unanimously said that among the many venues, the visit to the prison in Vac (not far from Budapest) was the most memorable one. Sandor says that the most surprising thing about the ‘prison concert’ was to experience that the people living inside seemed to be more free than those outside the walls. Several inmates became Christian and formed a church whose leader is Aunty Margit, a Reformed Pastor who visits them several times a week. The band reported about the unusual event when the inmates, one after the other, stood up and testified of God’s love and goodness. which was the last gig this year.

In Dombovar the guys proclaimed the gospel as part of a street outreach and a new Gypsy church was started from the new Christians there. Ruszlan emphasised that this year Amaro Del mostly served towards non-Roma Hungarians. Once they played at a village fair where people were drinking beer and wine, eating good foods and the music was only supposed to provide a background to all this. However, as people started listening to the lyrics of the songs, they were surprised and started paying more attention: they have never experienced before that Rome people would sing songs praising God. At another concert someone came up to the guys afterwards and admitted that he was thinking about suicide but by the end of the outreach decided not to go through with it.

The lead singer Tibor Virag said that for him the This Is The Day Festival in Budapest was a great experience: it is a rare experience to praise God in unison with so many people. He also fondly remembers their performance at the Calvary Chapel in Budapest. “I felt God’s power filling me, sometimes so strong that I almost fell face down on the stage. But I didn’t want to stop singing so I restrained myself” says Tibor and adds that several in the audience were crying and singing praise songs on their knees. There’s also an interesting experience connected to the concert at Calvary Chapel. Tibor told us that while he was struggling with difficulties in his personal life last year and almost gave up his faith, someone contacted him over the internet and told him what a great impact the ministry of Amaro Del had on his life. The person told him that it wasn’t as a result of any preaching but purely listening to their songs that he decided to become a Christian and look for a church.

This is how he got to Calvary Chapel where he was able to meet the band face to face. This had a powerful impact on Tibor’s personal faith and helped him get through the deep valleys. (It’s interesting to note that this same year there was a similar case where someone started going to church and became a Christian upon listening to one of the albums of Amaro Del).

It’s difficult to summarise all the experiences from this year in just a few sentences. It’s certain though that God’s blessing and love was felt continuously throughout the performances and it touched the guys as well as the audiences everywhere. Way to go, guys and praise be to God!

“We’re grateful to God for the opportunity to buy a minibus this year, which was a great need for many years. The Eastern-European Mission would like to record the fourth album of Amaro Del next year and is looking for sponsors for this as well as for an electronic piano. If anyone would like to support the ministry of the guys, please contact me” said Norbert Makszim, their manager.

Five concerts, many photos
9th August 2011

Hajdúhadház, Nyírmihálydi, Debrecen, Debrecen Bánkfalva - Amaro Del gave five concerts in these four locations and later on also travelled to Budapest for yet another performance.

The guys had a successful series of five concerts and with the help of a warm-up band from the Netherlands who came to Hungary for the UTurn Europe conference. Apart from the open-air performance in Debrecen, the band also had a very different experience during a “closed-air” concert in the local prison.

After the five performances in the countryside, they also gave a concert at the Living Word (Elo Ige) church in Budapest.

You can find photos from the above concerts on the Facebook page of Amaro Del.

'Day of Smiling' in Vojvodina
29 June 2011

It wasn't the first and certainly not the last time that Amaro Del participated in the 'Day of Smiling' in Vojvodina (Serbia) - and once again it was a great success.

Both young and old enjoyed a festival full of fun and joy. The children were entertained with crafts, face painting, a puppet show and a concert by the prominent Hungarian Christian singer Bela Pinter. For the grownups there were two artists who performed: the Serbian Dejan Milinov came over from Novi Sad and Amaro Del, who arrived from their home in the Ukraine. Apart from their own songs, Amaro Del also performed a Serbian Christian song to please the local audience.

Have a look at the photos from this festival, they were taken by Ágota Tamás.

A mini-bus for mega-plans
4th May 2011

Amaro Del is saving up for a minibus: so far they have 6.500 EUR but they are looking for further sponsoring - especially now with the summer season starting and a long list of concert dates and venues in their hands

Summer is always very busy for the band members. They give concerts in a wide variety of places: on big stages, at festivals, in community centres but equally sometimes just on the street or on the side of a corn field. The main aim though is always the same: to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, accompanied by great music.

Currently the band is facing a big challenge: they have already received 6.500 EUR from various donors for the purposes of purchasing a minibus for them. However, this is still not enough to buy the chosen vehicle; they still need another 1.200 EUR! We would be very grateful for the support of all those who deem the good Christian music, authentic ministry and evangelism done by Amaro Del as important. If you'd like to support them in this, please get in touch with the Eastern-European Mission by email

4 days, 7 concerts, 4 stuffed cabbages - short report about our tour in Transylvania
13th September 2010

In August Amaro Del went for a tour around Transylvania during which they were able to play music and proclaim the Gospel in many different venues and locations.

The guys sang and proclaimed the gospel standing on a trailer, in Glodeni as part of a Tent Outreach Week, in Targu Mures on an open-air stage in the city centre, in Odorheiu Secuiesc on the street and in a small church room, in Porumbenii Mici standing in the goal of a football field and in Eliseni on the big stage of the cultural centre. Hundreds of people were able to see and hear them at these gatherings.

The street event in Odorheiu Secuiesc was also attended by former offenders, there were about three hundred people in the audience. This was the first evangelism ever on the border of the city where the Gypsy people live. Many among them were touched by the power of God's love and told us that they have been changed and would like to follow Jesus.

In Porumbenii Mici, on the other hand, the police was in attendance. The local head of the police received a special invitation to the concert. The local pastor Laszlo Boldizsar and various mission groups of the Eastern-European Mission regularly visit this village and the policeman reported that he has much less to do since then. The number of murders, fights and violent attacks has gone back. At the end of the concert several people got saved and signed up to get baptised!

The gig in Eliseni was organised in a cultural centre, which was filled to the brim: also here, many people decided to follow Jesus Christ but also people who were already Christians, returned home with a strengthened faith.
